We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated General Surgeon to join our esteemed medical team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive surgical expertise across various specialties, including trauma, outpatient, inpatient, and emergency procedures.

Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of surgical procedures across multiple specialties such as trauma, general surgery, and outpatient surgeries.
- Conduct thorough preoperative assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients.
- Manage perioperative care, including preoperative preparation and postoperative recovery, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Utilize advanced medical imaging techniques such as CT scans, diagnostic radiology, and ultrasound to inform surgical decisions.
- Employ electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic and EMR systems for accurate documentation of patient information and procedure details.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesiology, radiology, nursing staff, and specialists in cardiology, neurology, oncology, and other fields.
- Engage in clinical research initiatives to advance surgical practices and improve patient outcomes.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols to ensure patient confidentiality and safety.
- Provide education and counseling to patients regarding surgical procedures, recovery processes, and post-operative care plans such as ostomy care or wound management.
- Participate in hospital committees focused on quality improvement, patient safety, and compliance with NCQA standards.
Experience
- Proven experience in general surgery with proficiency in complex procedures such as endoscopy, vascular interventional radiography, catheterization, neurocritical care, and airway management.
- Familiarity with a broad spectrum of specialties including orthopedics, urology, nephrology, immunology, rheumatology, infectious disease care, and critical care environments.
- Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools like nuclear medicine imaging or radiation therapy is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to perform minimally invasive surgeries utilizing interventional radiology techniques or laparoscopic methods.
- Experience working within hospital medicine or outpatient clinics with a focus on patient service excellence.
- Strong understanding of physiology knowledge relevant to emergency medicine, post-operative care, pain management, hospice & palliative medicine, and acute pain management protocols.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications in advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS), pediatric advanced life support (PALS), or specialized procedural training are preferred.
